Privacy-First By Default
Everything is stored locally on your device in a secure SQLite database. Your location history is never transmitted to an external server.
Low-Battery Design
No continuous background tracking. Location services are only active when you explicitly start a tracking session.
Tax-Oriented Calculations
Handles cumulative annual distance tracking with configurable rates and thresholds, with region-specific tax presets rolling out progressively.
Why I built this: I'm an independent developer and I needed a straightforward way to track my vehicle journeys for expenses and tax reporting. Everything else I tried on the app stores was either incredibly overcomplicated, locked behind immediate paywalls, or constantly tracking my location 24/7 in the background, draining my battery.
So, I built MileageMate for myself. It keeps things completely private, calculates tax tiers dynamically, and only uses GPS when you tell it to. A few colleagues and friends started using it and found it genuinely useful — so I kept adding features to support their needs too.
After a year of refining it based on real feedback from people I know, it occurred to me: if it works well for them, maybe it's worth sharing more broadly. So here we are.

Transparent Pricing for Premium
The small monthly fee covers the real running costs of keeping the app on the stores (developer accounts, map services, infrastructure) and supports ongoing maintenance and future improvements. Pricing is kept around the cost of a coffee and is localised automatically by the store.
